Barcelona 1700 From stones to people
Under the structure of an emblematic market with iron casting architecture of the 19th century, the archaeological site of 1700 Barcelona is found, which is unique in Europe, along with the old market, the memory of the events of 1714 and exhibitions, all located at El Born Centre Cultural, a new and exceptional historic venue that links three centuries of history.

An exhibition to recall Barcelona society of the 18th century, that was a dynamic and modern society, but also marked by the wars suffered between 1691 and 1714.
The exhibition includes around 1,800 objects that have provided valuable new information to portray everyday life and how the people of Barcelona lived three centuries ago. Linked to the permanent exhibition at the foot of the site, there will also be three exhibition areas displaying various objects. The most remarkable is the Sala de la Guerra (War Room), where a selection of over three hundred bombs are exhibited, of different sizes, types and materials which were discovered during the excavation.
The exhibition is structured in three major areas: La Gran Casa (The Home), La Ciutat pròspera (The prosperous City), La vida quotidiana (Everyday life), La Ciutat atacada i mutilada (The attacked and mutilated City) and La Ciutat refeta (The rebuilt City).Dates 2025 not yet confirmed.

The Torre Bellesguard is a unique venue in which to host this market where you will find unique and original pieces by young designers while enjoying live music and tasting dishes from all over the world served at the various food trucks located there.This curious tradition is one hundred percent from Barcelona and it takes place on the day of Corpus. As its name suggests, it consists of making an egg "dance" upon the source of the fountains found in cloisters, courtyards or gardens. To ensure that the egg doesn't fall, the "trick" is to put the whole shell of an empty egg. The fountains are decorated with flowers and fruits.

Gran Teatre del Liceu Season 20242025
The Gran Teatre del Liceu is one of Barcelona's iconic venues and among the world's most spectacular opera houses. It begins the new season with an ambitious series of performances. The season will feature major works such as La forza del destino, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata and Lohengrin. The theatre will also be hosting dance performances featuring Afanador performed by the Spanish National Ballet and Hamer by Alexander Ekman performed by GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. There will also be concert performances of works by Debussy, Mahler and Monteverdi. And, finally, families will be able to enjoy the season for kids, the Petit Liceu, which will feature different shows, including La Barcarola and Rossini's Kitchen.
Barcelona Obertura Ciutat de Clàssica
This March, Barcelona becomes the epicentre of classical music with a new edition of the Ciutat de Clàssica festival. Organised by Barcelona Obertura, in collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and L'Auditori, this event offers unique concerts featuring renowned national and international performers on these prestigious stages.
This edition will feature 18 large-scale concerts in the city's main auditoriums, alongside 23 free concerts performed by local talent in unique settings. A festival that blends tradition and innovation, bringing classical music to new audiences and transforming Barcelona into a grand musical stage.
The programme also includes a wide range of free concerts in iconic venues across Barcelona, such as the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm, Casa Batlló, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Casa Seat, Gabriel García Márquez Library, Fundació Miró, Museu Picasso, Mirador Torre Glòries, Palau Güell, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona, and the Network of Civic Centres of Barcelona City Council, which once again collaborate with the festival. Additionally, new venues are being introduced this year: Torre Collserola, the Faculty of Law at the University of Barcelona, Refugi 307, Casa de l'Aigua in Trinitat Nova, Christ the Redeemer Parish, King Martí's Reservoir, Pedralbes Monastery, and the Jaume Fuster Library.
