  Created in 2003, Loop is a platform that focuses on the possibilities and challenges presented by video art, one of the key artistic movements of modern times. Each year, Loop hosts professionals and the public for a gathering where they can explore the latest technological and other developments in the moving image sector and see the work of new and established creatives who use video as their main tool.
  
  Loop Festival runs for around 10 days and includes screenings, exhibitions, concerts, talks and other live events at numerous venues around the city.

  70th Maria Canals International Music Competition of Barcelona

  Palau de la Música Catalana is hosting the Maria Canals International Music Competition, which has been attracting renowned young pianists to Barcelona for 70 years. The aim is to take advantage of the presence of this young talent in the city to bring piano music to the general public.
  As they do every year, the OFF Competition will be distributing pianos throughout different spaces in Barcelona, so that anyone who is able to can play and enjoy them.

  The Grec, Barcelona's keenly anticipated annual festival of music, dance, circus and theater is about to begin. It is a festival that now forms part of the city's cultural landscape and connects fully with its artistic life. This year more than ever the Teatre Grec, which gives its name to the festival, is at the epicenter, but you will be able to see related events at a multitude of venues across Barcelona.
  
  This year's Grec de Barcelona Festival is a celebration of local talent, with artists it has helped to grow and who now represent Barcelona around the world. At the same time, it pays tribute to world masters of the performing arts.

  CanetRock25

  The CanetRock festival reaches a new edition in 2023, consolidating its commitment to the best of rock and to Catalan pop groups. This time round the acts include Figa Flawas, Mushka, Julieta, La Fúmiga, and much more. In addition to the twelve hours of non-stop music, the audience can enjoy parallel activities in the incomparable setting of Canet de Mar beach.

  Circuit Festival

  The Circuit Festival is the biggest international LGBTIQ+ festival. Created in 2008 by the Matinée Group, each year brings with it over a week of clubbing, leisure activities and holidays that turn Barcelona into the summer's international gay capital. There are a variety of different activities to enjoy, such as pool parties, the Water Park Day, DJ sets and performances by famous artists on the gay scene and club nights. An event which just cannot be missed and which emphasizes the city's commitment to the LGBTIQ+ community.

  Rec 0 Experimental Stores

  The textile tradition of Igualada in the 19th century left an industrial neighborhood, the Rec district, full of factories. The Rec. O Experimental Stores initiative takes up the tradition and reinvents it through a temporary transformation. Over four days, the industrial areas will become pop up clothing stores where top brands will display their goods and samples at one-off prices. This circuit will also feature Rec Street Food, with food trucks, and the Rec Music Festival which will put on concerts throughout the different spaces.

  Gran Teatre del Liceu Season 20242025

  The Gran Teatre del Liceu is one of Barcelona's iconic venues and among the world's most spectacular opera houses. It begins the new season with an ambitious series of performances. The season will feature major works such as La forza del destino, Madama Butterfly, La Traviata and Lohengrin. The theatre will also be hosting dance performances featuring Afanador performed by the Spanish National Ballet and Hamer by Alexander Ekman performed by GöteborgsOperans Danskompani. There will also be concert performances of works by Debussy, Mahler and Monteverdi. And, finally, families will be able to enjoy the season for kids, the Petit Liceu, which will feature different shows, including La Barcarola and Rossini's Kitchen.

  Guitar BCN

  This may essentially be a festival based on only one instrument, but the sounds, performers and styles on the programme could scarcely be more wide-ranging. The skill of the organisers, leading Spanish music promoters The Project, in bringing together Catalan, Spanish, European and international performers from a variety of musical genres is quite something. Flamenco to pop, classic Cuban to contemporary Catalan, acoustic and electric, emerging and veteran acts – all this and more fills the many city venues that take part in Guitar BCN.

  Barcelona Obertura Ciutat de Clàssica

  This March, Barcelona becomes the epicentre of classical music with a new edition of the Ciutat de Clàssica festival. Organised by Barcelona Obertura, in collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu, the Palau de la Música Catalana, and L'Auditori, this event offers unique concerts featuring renowned national and international performers on these prestigious stages.

  This edition will feature 18 large-scale concerts in the city's main auditoriums, alongside 23 free concerts performed by local talent in unique settings. A festival that blends tradition and innovation, bringing classical music to new audiences and transforming Barcelona into a grand musical stage.

  The programme also includes a wide range of free concerts in iconic venues across Barcelona, such as the Antiga Fàbrica Estrella Damm, Casa Batlló, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Casa Seat, Gabriel García Márquez Library, Fundació Miró, Museu Picasso, Mirador Torre Glòries, Palau Güell, the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Barcelona, and the Network of Civic Centres of Barcelona City Council, which once again collaborate with the festival. Additionally, new venues are being introduced this year: Torre Collserola, the Faculty of Law at the University of Barcelona, Refugi 307, Casa de l'Aigua in Trinitat Nova, Christ the Redeemer Parish, King Martí's Reservoir, Pedralbes Monastery, and the Jaume Fuster Library.
